Ingres\u00f3 al Servicio Exterior Mexicano en 1973. Fue ascendido al rango de Embajador en 1994 y\nrecibi\u00f3 la distinci\u00f3n presidencial de Embajador Eminente en 2017. Se retir\u00f3 en 2018 tras una exitosa carrera diplom\u00e1tica de m\u00e1s de 45 a\u00f1os.<\/div>\n\n
En la Secretar\u00eda de Relaciones Exteriores ocup\u00f3, entre otros cargos, los de Subsecretario para Am\u00e9rica Latina y el Caribe; Director General de Protocolo; Director General para Am\u00e9rica del Norte; y Secretario Particular del Canciller.<\/div>\n\n
Con diferentes rangos diplom\u00e1ticos, estuvo comisionado en las embajadas de M\u00e9xico en Estados\nUnidos de Am\u00e9rica; Canad\u00e1; Reino Unido; Alemania Oriental; y Austria.<\/div>\n\n
Fungi\u00f3 como Embajador de M\u00e9xico en Alemania; Suiza (concurrente ante Liechtenstein); Suecia\n(concurrente ante Letonia y Lituania); y Noruega.<\/div>\n\n
Ha sido condecorado por los gobiernos de Alemania; Suecia; Pa\u00edses Bajos; Grecia; y Brasil.\nEs egresado de la Facultad de Derecho de la UNAM y realiz\u00f3 estudios de Relaciones Internacionales\nen la Universidad de Viena.\n<\/div>\n\n
Es autor de art\u00edculos sobre temas internacionales y de pol\u00edtica exterior mexicana y ha impartido conferencias en instituciones acad\u00e9micas en M\u00e9xico y el extranjero.<\/div>\n
